Created on reclaimed cardboard, this work combines collage, oil paint and oil pastels in a composition where the support itself becomes part of the image. Torn sections remain attached to the surface, creating shifts in depth, shadow and rhythm that blur the boundary between painting and object.
The botanical forms are reduced to loose, gestural silhouettes. Layered pinks, turquoise-green stems and broken white highlights create a sense of movement rather than botanical precision. Visible brushstrokes and pastel marks reinforce the immediacy of the process, while the monochromatic pink ground unifies the composition.
Instead of concealing the cardboards wear and fractures, the work embraces them as compositional elements. The tears interrupt the painted image, introducing another layer of line and texture that reflects the physical history of the material. The result is a dialogue between colour, surface and structure, where painting and collage exist as one continuous process.

Ive never been particularly interested in defining my work through one style or visual language. I tend to follow intuition, colour, movement and whatever happens between memory, material and the thing Im trying to make.
I work across painting, collage and mixed media, using oils, oil sticks, pastels, cardboard and whatever else the work seems to need. Im drawn to cutting things apart, layering them, rebuilding them and leaving some of that construction visible.
My work often begins with something ordinary a flower, a vase, a bowl of fruit, a landscape and becomes something slightly less certain along the way. Shapes get simplified, proportions shift, colours stop behaving realistically and lines dont necessarily go where they should.
Im less interested in perfection than in what happens when I allow a work to stay a little raw, playful and unresolved.
For me, making art is a way of finding something I couldnt have planned in advance.
