In 2011-2014, I painted the series on trees to dedicate my art to family members and friends, and to all those who have been fighting cancer.
Trees give comfort, providing a place to be, as they stretch their branches in summer. Trees remind us that the changing colours of the season means new hope; that their falling leaves in autumn means that new buds will bloom; that the stillness of their branches in winter
means that they embrace the beauty of the snow no matter how cold it is.

And throughout the long winter, the trees endure,
from deep inside will come a new life in spring.
