Abstract Artist | Åhus, Sweden

Helene C. Lundberg is a Swedish abstract artist based in the medieval coastal town of Åhus, on the south-east coast of Sweden.

Her paintings evolve through an intuitive, layered process in which color, texture, and movement interact freely. Using various spatulas, she applies paint in spontaneous yet deliberate gestures, allowing non-representational forms to emerge organically. Each work develops in response to the painting itself — guided by the subtle details, rhythms, and patterns that reveal themselves over time.

The works radiate a strong sense of energy while simultaneously inviting stillness. As a viewer, one is drawn into the painting, enveloped by its presence, and offered a moment of quiet contemplation.

The creation of a painting may take anything from a few hours to several days or weeks. The decisive challenge lies in knowing when to stop — concluding the process at the precise moment when balance, color, and form align in complete harmony.

2021 – Tableau Vivant, Manhattan, New York
Concert and art exhibition organized by composer and pianist Margin Alexander. Twelve invited artists’ paintings were presented and interpreted musically, inspiring original piano compositions. Margin Alexander performed his musical interpretation of my painting "Närvaro," shown below. The event was live-streamed.
