Floating silence, 2025

Akryl
195 x 130 x 10 cm

This sculptural work appears to float 3.5 cm off the wall (10cm highest point) thanks to a specially designed invisible frame, creating a sense of quiet levitation.

Created through a brutal yet poetic process, the material was hardened, painted, violently broken and beaten many times, then left on the ground until it settled into its own natural form. A final hardening fixed this state.

The resulting network of cracks, ripples, and folds covers an extremely rough-to-the-touch surface that tells a story of lifes hardships the moments when we are struck down and left shattered. Still, the piece holds itself together with dignity and beauty.

Though the surface is heavy, coarse, and intensely tactile, the work levitates lightly, symbolizing how we can carry deep wounds and emptiness while continuing to exist with grace and resilience.

Helsinki

I am a Finnish artist based in Helsinki. I have been creating art since 2016, but it was only two years ago that I finally found my own unique voice and technique a slow, physical and highly textured process that truly is my own.

Previously I worked as an interior architect, designing entire homes from the building structure down to the smallest details. This background still influences my work through a strong sense of space, material and precision.

I am extremely selective about what I release. Each piece often takes months to complete, as I am rarely satisfied and keep refining until the work feels right. My art is born from destruction and resilience: heavy, cracked, sculpture like rough surfaces that appear to float lightly off the wall reflecting how we can carry deep fractures yet still hold ourselves together with quiet strength.

Currently 28 years old, I work slowly and intuitively, letting each sculpture-like painting find its final form in its own time.
