This was painted at a time when I would walk the streets of Söder and look for the sun. I love the rich terrecotta of this building, although it isn't yellow, it still brought me warmth. The bright sun created quite a contrast at the top.
This is painted on Arches 640g/m watercolor paper using winsor & newton professional watercolor paints.

I am an American artist, mother and wife, now calling Sweden my home. My creative journey is intertwined with the exploration of this culture and its landscape. I hold a B.F.A. in Illustration, majoring in Children’s Book Illustration. I use that practice when I am painting to capture a moment or a feeling and give it a story. My goal is to create works that not only celebrate the beauty of my surroundings but also share the everyday moments of life and bring joy or warmth to the viewer. My work also extends to illustrating and designing children's books.
