Folkoperan, 2018
Akvarell
37 x 28 cm
We had a family flat-coat retriever and he loved to peruse the streets of Södermalm. He was great at cafes and really enjoyed all the markets and walking along the water too. This illustration is a fun look at Hornsgatan, and I have always loved the entrance roof to Folkoperan.
This is painted on Saunders Waterford 300g/m watercolor paper using winsor & newtow professional watercolor paints.

I am an American artist, mother and wife, now calling Sweden my home. My creative journey is intertwined with the exploration of this culture and its landscape. I hold a B.F.A. in Illustration, majoring in Children’s Book Illustration. I use that practice when I am painting to capture a moment or a feeling and give it a story. My goal is to create works that not only celebrate the beauty of my surroundings but also share the everyday moments of life and bring joy or warmth to the viewer. My work also extends to illustrating and designing children's books.
