I am an experimental Hanji artist from South Korea, currently based in Sweden. I have developed Hanji Painting Lamp, a new form of art combining traditional Korean paper, light, painting, and sculptural elements.
My work explores duality and the changing nature of perception. When illuminated, an image can transform into something entirely different, continually shifting with the intensity of light. Through this transformation, I reflect on impermanence and invite viewers to observe their own inner state.
Hanji is central to my practice for its translucency, strength, and flexibility. I combine it with natural and found materials such as dried branches, grasses, and other objects that attract my attention using dyes, acrylic, watercolour, and ink.
Through my work, I seek to create a space for reflection on what we see, what we cannot see, and what we find within ourselves.
