KYN-LÍF - Arcus

KYN-LÍF is a collage series made from old pornographic magazines from the 1960s - 1970s.

The word kynlíf is an Icelandic word meaning sex/sexual act/intercourse. When you dissect the word kynlíf (kyn líf) you get another interpretation of the word; kyn (gender/sex) and líf (life). With this wordplay ÁREG wants to highlight the meaning of sex, relationships, body image, life and human connection.
Using old pornographic magazines as a base for her creation she blurs the line between art and porn, allowing both to exist together

"Arcus" (meaning rainbow in latin) is a part of the KYN-LÍF series with focus on queer sexuality.
