Mixed media: Décollage

These pieces are created with a technique where an image is created by removing, cutting, or tearing away parts of an original image.
Many of these pieces have between 3 - 4 layers of paper - comprising of posters, images, cuttings, coloured stock etc.

While collage involves building an image by combining various elements, décollage focuses on the act of taking away, creating a sense of deconstruction and recontextualization.
