In this commanding horizontal composition, the seashell departs entirely from a standard biological specimen and expands into an epic, landscape-scale monument. Rising like a range of draped, flesh-toned peaks against an infinite, dark void, the heavy structural ridges part dramatically down the center to form a striking horizontal line. Chasm marks a crucial, daring turning point in the series where internal protection transforms into open sovereignty. I am currently living in London.
I am inspired by colour-intense nature scenes and create evocative figurative works with surreal elements -portraits that deeply resonate with my Swedish outdoor background.
Emotions and memories characterises my choice of themes and concepts deeply shaped by my experience of moving abroad and living between two cultures.
My identity, human bonds and the feminine are often central themes in my art.
My work is often inspired by fables, woven with shamanic symbolism, spirit animals and cryptic titles that invite deeper contemplation.
I primarily work with oil as a medium of choice. The technique I apply is a wet-on-wet method with an absorbing focus on every detail, which I hope gives my paintings depth and vibrancy.
My artistic education includes fine art and natural science studied at Folk High Schools, Anthroposophical University studies and a graduate diploma in interior design from Chelsea College of Art and Design in London, U.K. These experiences have shaped my artistic vision and technical expertise.
During the two decades I have lived in London I've honed my artistic skills and sold works to collectors globally. My work has been showcased in both national and internationally curated and juried exhibitions, spanning both solo and group shows.
