Topography, 2026
Textil
30 x 40 x 2 cm
Tactile exploration of landscape, geography, and inner memory expressed through contemporary textile art. Viewed from an abstract aerial perspective, the composition evokes the rhythmic harmony of fields, winding rural roads, and calm waterways as seen from high above the earth.
I want carefully orchestrates a rich visual dialogue between fluid, hand-dyed cotton and structured jeans elements. Soft washes of yellow and organic green blend seamlessly into raw, structural shapes, creating a sense of depth, atmosphere, and natural contour. Precise black hand-stitched details traverse the canvas like cartographic markers. Rhythmic stitches introduce a graphic quality that balances the painterly fluidity of the fabric.
By merging traditional patchwork, fabric painting, and modern fiber art, this piece transforms raw materials into a poetic map of presence and place. It invites the viewer to pause, contemplate our visual connection to the land.

Artist Bio
Olha Krіuchkovska is a multidisciplinary artist working with painting, collage and mixed media installations. Her practice explores the traces left by people and the changing relationships between nature, memory and cultural identity. Born in Kherson, Ukraine, and living in Sweden since 2022, she explores how migration, war and collective trauma transform both landscapes and inner states. Using layered materials and tactile surfaces, she creates visual narratives that oscillate between abstraction and landscape, presence and disappearance. Kriuchkovska’s works are in private collections in different country of the word. She also teaches art in her long-term educational project Ptashka. In addition to her artistic practice, she works as a designer on various cultural projects and provides organizational support for events. She actively promotes Ukrainian culture abroad by initiating projects that engage Ukrainian artists and foster cultural dialogue with Europe.
Artistic Statement
My work examines the fragile connections between humans, nature, and time. I use painting, collage, and textile‑based techniques to explore how landscapes absorb memory, trauma, and cultural transformation. Migration and war have reshaped my understanding of home, belonging, and the marks we leave behind. Through layered surfaces, traces, and fragments, I investigate how personal and collective histories coexist within a single visual field. I am interested in the tension between what disappears and what remains, and how materiality can hold emotional and historical weight. Each work becomes a site of reconstruction - of identity, of memory, of the relationship between the human body and the environment.
