Jeanette Ringwall is a Swedish artist based on the southwest coast of Sweden.
Working primarily with acrylic and mixed media, her painting moves between abstraction and recognizable forms.
Her work develops through an intuitive process of layering, erasure and revision. Forms emerge, shift and sometimes disappear again, while traces of earlier stages are allowed to remain visible. Open areas and unfinished passages often become as important as the more defined elements of the painting.
Rather than fixing the image to a single interpretation, Ringwall is interested in the point where something can still be recognized without being fully defined, leaving space for the viewer’s own associations.
Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Sweden and internationally.
