In this art piece I am reflecting on the relationship between consumerism and spirituality of the womanhood of my generation.

We are shaped by an online experience of memes, visual overwhelm and love for beauty, that sometimes results in the obsession with the pursuit of beauty.

In my own pursuit of a spiritual understanding of feminine beauty, it is clear to me that beauty is the fuel of life.

However it is not something superficial or commercial at its core. It is rather a force of nature that can heal us deeply, once we mature in our understanding of it.

As I see it, consumerism comes with the belief that we as women and as humans are disconnected from the source of life and from beauty, and therefore must pursue it.

I am an optimist that views my online experience as an abundance of beauty and a deep dive in it, that ultimately has resulted in a higher understanding of the essence of beauty.

I have received spiritual downloads both from my meditation practice and from consuming art online.

I believe when we stop the pursuit of beauty, we wake up to the ultimate reality where beauty resides within us all. Thats when we can truly be creative beings that add to the beauty naturally, free from the wounded insecure feminine that believes She is separated from the Source of life, when in actuality She is One with it.

Norea Fagrell is a multidisciplinary artist who views art as a healing practice of spiritual attunement. The creative process is much like her meditation practice, in the way that she aims to raise inner consciousness. Healing becomes possible when Norea connects to her own loving awareness, shining light on her inner shadows while creating art, so that darkness can be transmuted and transformed through her joyful creation and expression of self-love.

With a wide and lifelong creative background mainly consisting of illustrative art, Norea's Swedish-Indonesian mixed heritage and deep love for Asian spiritual and visual traditions and mysticism have shaped her unique artistic style, which has remained recognizable ever since she was a child.

Her art has always been human-centered through her stylistically unique depictions of humans and the multidimensionality of being human, alongside a lifelong desire to express her boundless mind.

Some of her works are intuitive and dynamic, honouring the naturally transformational flow of life. Other artworks are meditations on pre-existing ideas, symbols, and archetypes, while exploring her personal stylistic interpretation of them.

The motifs of her art honour the universal aspects of human life that are sacred, eternally present, and complete. These vibrant and playful images reveal the supposedly higher dimensions of reality where pure love, joy, and beauty are promised.
