This captivating oil painting, "Smoking Man in a Hat," is a striking piece from my ongoing series exploring the contemplative moments of men. Rendered with masterful realism on canvas, the rich oil colors bring to life the texture of the hat and the subtle details of the subject's expression. The artist's technique captures a sense of quiet intensity, making this a truly engaging figurative portrait.
Imagine this medium-sized artwork adding a touch of sophisticated intrigue to your living room or study. Its presence evokes a feeling of relaxed contemplation, perhaps reminiscent of a peaceful vacation or a journey to vibrant lands like Cuba. The subject, a man in a hat, invites viewers to pause and reflect, bringing a unique character and depth to any space.

Anastasiya Kostyuk is a Belarus-born artist now based in Sweden whose classical training and international perspective shape a distinctive visual language.
Having completed an art-school education in her homeland, she now explores oil painting with a refined realism that invites deeper reflection. In her work, the human form, still- life and narrative scenes unfold with a dual allegiance to technical precision and poetic resonance. Cortex and surface merge: each canvas balances compositional control with expressive tension, rooted in tradition yet embracing the fluidity of contemporary experience.
