Collage on recycled, gessoed cardboard and oil paint

This work is part of an ongoing exploration of shape, line and material through layered cardboard constructions. Built from individually cut pieces of recycled cardboard, the composition embraces the irregular edges, texture and relief created by the material itself.

Inspired by flowers but moving beyond botanical representation, the piece focuses on rhythm, movement and relationships between forms. The pale, muted palette contrasts with the dark linear structure of the stems, creating a quiet tension between softness and direction.

The visible corrugation of the cardboard remains intentionally present, allowing the work to exist somewhere between painting, collage and object. Rather than concealing the material, the process celebrates its imperfections and transforms an ordinary surface into something delicate and contemplative.

Oil paint, recycled cardboard and chance become equal participants in the final image.
