Human beings once used to look up at the stars to feel eternity.
Now they look at time to understand how much is left.
We have become creatures who monitor time.
The stars still shine, but our gaze is already trapped between our fingers - where fear, control, and the feeling of an ending reside.
For me, this painting is about the loss of scale.
Humanity once measured itself against the cosmos, myths, the heavens, and the unknown. Now we measure ourselves against deadlines, age, productivity, clock time, timeframes, and the fear of not having enough time.
And perhaps this is exactly where human beings become smaller.
Not physically, but inwardly.
