I’m a visual artist working mainly with monotype and mixed media. My background in fine arts and education gave me a lasting affection for printmaking — especially monotype, a technique I hold close to my heart. It’s a paradoxical process: a printmaking method that typically allows for multiples, yet here, each matrix yields only one unique work. Many of the pieces in this gallery are part of an ongoing exploration of this contradiction and a personal documentation of experimenting with various printing techniques.

I’ve long been both inspired and humbled by Japanese calligraphy — the clarity of its lines, as well as the unpredictability of ink dissolving into paper, the way a drying brush leaves stains and subtle traces. In many of my works, I use a semi-dry brush, continually exploring the expressive potential of ink residues and broken marks.
