This painting grew out of my interest in quiet transformation. The pears feel familiar and grounded, while the butterflies introduce a sense of movement and change. I let the forms remain soft and translucent, allowing color and line to drift, overlap, and breathe rather than settle into certainty.
As I worked, I thought about moments of becoming—when things are not quite what they were, but not fully something new. The gentle palette and layered marks reflect that in-between space for me. I hope the painting offers a feeling of lightness and pause, where growth feels tender, natural, and quietly alive.

Jeanette Ringwall is a Swedish artist based on the southwest coast of Sweden.
Working primarily with acrylic and mixed media, her painting moves between abstraction and recognizable forms.
Her work develops through an intuitive process of layering, erasure and revision. Forms emerge, shift and sometimes disappear again, while traces of earlier stages are allowed to remain visible. Open areas and unfinished passages often become as important as the more defined elements of the painting.
Rather than fixing the image to a single interpretation, Ringwall is interested in the point where something can still be recognized without being fully defined, leaving space for the viewer’s own associations.
Her work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Sweden and internationally.
