Tazota is an abstract mixed-media work built through layered application, scraping, and partial erasure. The composition alternates between exposed color and sealed surfaces, suggesting structure without direct representation.
Inspired by traditional stone granaries used to store grain in rural Morocco, the work adopts the logic of preservation rather than depiction. The painting functions as a container of memory and endurance, where what is withheld is as meaningful as what is revealed.
