This is the first painting in a series where I painted a picture of myself and my sibling as children at a beach at Gotland, an island in southern Sweden, inspired by different eras trough the history of art. This one is inspired by impressionism. I have taken the most influence by Claude Monet and Edgar Degas.

The key point with the series was to explore the idea of how people view the world in different ways, which I tried to express with the help of different artistic eras.

The goal with this one, is to capture the impression of what you see, rather than what you would se on a camera picture. I tried to translate the lights and shadows to cool and warm tones, the colors of grey to all the colors within it and the basic shapes into a whole living and moving constillation. With the tools left for me by former artists I was able to tell the picture in the way they may have seen it.
