Welcome to a world of nature and “glimmers”

Nina Johansson; art weaver with colourful and golden threads inspired by nature, especially mountains and Nordic fairytales, as well as the art of skiing and the rollercoaster of the life adventure

For Nina, the white canvas is the beginning of a present, playful and intuitive adventure. It’s a feeling not unlike skiing off-piste in fresh snow or coaching others in personal leadership; each experience driven by curiosity and the question: What will emerge this time?

Whatever it may be, she often finds herself in a state of wonder, guided by a deep conviction that we all have the potential to lead and live lives that feel fulfilling, sustainable and connected to ourselves, to one another and to nature and the planet. It may sound like a cliché, but nevertheless she truly believes it.

These influences have sparked Nina’s exploration of the idea of “glimmers”; the opposite of triggers. They are those tiny moments that spark joy, a sense of presence, gratefulness and freedom. The little things that remind us life is pretty amazing

Creative Role Models
• Grandmother Alva, a creative by heart, seamstress - who told magic stories, baked gingerbread cookies with a splash of whiskey and sewed exquisite, fashion-forward doll clothes for me and my cousin

• Grandmother Dagmar, who loved the mountains and forests and shared her sense of wonder with us grandchildren, over hidden patches of chanterelles, blooming globeflowers, the winter sun warming our faces and orange breaks in snowy landscapes
