Morsan, 2025
Akryl
55 x 46 x 1,5 cm
A cow stands in the middle of the picture, proud, unfiltered, with a cigarette in its mouth. The udder is pixelated, a wink at the idea that sometimes we need to censor ourselves.
The painting is a tribute to my mom, who always dared to be herself, even when others had opinions about it. “Morsan” reminds us that strength lies in being open and honest, but also that sometimes it’s wise to tone down the most unfiltered parts.

Casper Jarnstedt (b. 1995)
I grew up in Stockholm and since 2024 I have been based in Norrköping. My artistic expression is rooted in visual thinking, where images replace words. Unlike many others, I lack an inner narrative voice, something I only recently realized is unusual.
I have ADHD and have struggled with focus throughout my life. Painting, however, places me in a state of hyperfocus where I become fully absorbed in the process. My works are depictions of my thoughts and emotions, a way to visualize what would otherwise remain wordless.
I am entirely self-taught and view my visual thinking as a strength. It allows me to convey a directness and presence in my paintings that words could never fully capture.
