Natalia Orest
The Liberated Dance, 2025
Blyerts
59,4 x 42 cm
Graphite on A2 paper.
Price: Available, but currently not for sale.
A mirrored study where "The Tethered Dance" and "The Liberated Dance" depict the same classical movement: the piaffe, a highly collected trot performed in place.
"The Liberated Dance" offers a counterpoint. The same piaffe, the same species, but this time the movement arises from freedom. A white horse, untethered and unburdened, moves with balance, softness, and selfcarriage. It is supported, not manipulated, by an open human hand below. A gesture of partnership rather than power.

I am a self-taught graphite artist based in Sweden, creating highly detailed animal drawings that blend realism with atmosphere, storytelling, and emotional depth.
Through graphite, I focus on capturing not only physical detail, but also movement, presence, and personality. Rather than portraying animals as simple subjects, I approach them as living beings with their own spirit and unspoken story. Many of my works reflect human experiences through the symbolism of animals, inviting viewers to slow down, reflect, and connect with something both wild and deeply familiar.
Animals have always been a central part of my life and creative journey. Through both original artworks and custom commissions, I aim to create meaningful pieces that honor the souls who inspire them while preserving moments of connection, memory, and emotion.
I welcome inquiries in both English and Swedish.
