Architectural reflections I, 2024

Blandteknik
104 x 39 x 1 cm

Architectural Reflections I presents a symmetrical ceramic mural that reimagines the façade of a classical structure through a contemporary, graphic lens. Composed of twenty four tiles, the work uses a restrained palette of black, white, and deep red to build a rhythmic and dynamic composition.
The repetition of architectural elements—arches, stares, and rooftops—creates a sense of order, while the detailed patterns suggest surface textures inspired by ancient stonework. The two red circular forms on either side act as visual anchors.
A wooden wall mounting system is included.

Myrsini (Greek, born in 1991) was originally trained as an architect and it’s her architectural background that shaped her art practice. She is currently based in Stockholm and her work focuses on painting bespoke ceramic tiles.

” Each piece begins as a quiet thought -
a gesture between structure and emotion,
where color meets form,
and memory finds its rhythm in surface and space.
I don’t see tiles as mere objects,
but as vessels of story -
touchstones that hold light, texture, and time.”
