My name is Kristina J. Thonell, an Italian artist with Croatian roots, currently living in Sweden. My art is more than just something to look at—it’s a journey, a space for self-discovery and transformation.
Abstract expressionism of Insight ;
a jurney within ,a way to turn pain and trauma into something beautiful. I deeply believe that unconditional self-love is a catalyst for growth, a mirror reflecting our inner world into the world around us.
With a delicate balance of brushes and shades and the use of only 3 colours and the texture as representation of the 4 elements alchemised ,
offers more than an image—it’s a portal to inner peace.
I present two series, Horizon and Universe. Horizon symbolizes the power of clarity and insight—can you feel it rather than just see it? Universe instead embraces complexity, creating a deep, personal connection for each viewer.

Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi,I use gold leaf to honor the beauty in brokenness, believing love and care can transform even the fractured into something precious,unique anf therefore soulful—just like the human experience.

If my art allows you to experience even a brief moment of beauty and peace, then I have achieved my purpose.
