Yellow No. 1A, Långholmen, 2018
Akvarell
23 x 31 cm
This is part of my yellow series. When the days get shorter and the sun hides way above the thick clouds I start to get blue. When the sun is out I walk the streets looking for yellow or signs of strong shadows. The rich blue in the window, highlighting a particularly blue bird sky kind of day caught my eye. This historic building on the infamous island of Långholmen is painted in two tone yellow.
This is painted on Arches 300g/m watercolor papaer using winsor & newtow professional watercolor paints. This comes unframed but I include a passepartout 30x40.

I am an American artist, mother and wife, now calling Sweden my home. My creative journey is intertwined with the exploration of this culture and its landscape. I hold a B.F.A. in Illustration, majoring in Children’s Book Illustration. I use that practice when I am painting to capture a moment or a feeling and give it a story. My goal is to create works that not only celebrate the beauty of my surroundings but also share the everyday moments of life and bring joy or warmth to the viewer. My work also extends to illustrating and designing children's books.
