This is a story about the process of breaking free from the paralyzing grip of fear.
The embrace of anxiety - I know it by heart. Every sharp corner. And I - rigid in its grip, with no way to escape. Each time, I freeze a little more.
Slowly, I’m starting to fit into it. I’m trying to tame its shape, to settle into it like a familiar space. Only when I attempt to build myself a nest in its cold, hard walls do I realize - it will never be comfortable here.
And then, just as I try to mold myself into it, just as I seek to find my place within the fear - I dissolve. I melt, stretching like caramel, slipping through the tiniest crack. With an appetite for whatever awaits me beyond the breaking shift.
