Inner Beauty, 2024
Akryl
24,5 x 19,5 x 8 cm
Acrylic on cnc cut out mdf wood.
A piece resembling the beauty facemasks. It's both a visual representation of self care, as well as society telling you you can always be more beautiful.
Self compassion is a big important thing in my life, or I should say the lack thereof. But pampering, or taking good care of myself often feels superficial. I know these things might help, but I'm too skeptic and I've been in the marketing world enough to know it's selling you a bunch of lies to fulfil insecurities they've created for the buyer.
It's also a show of persona, or identity. It's a fake idea, but yet we are so focused and so busy with it. It's sometimes even all we have. Putting on these masks to highlight your beauty does just make everyone look the same.
Other title: "Beauty will save the world", from Dostoevsky. Not aesthetics, or even physical, but the type of light that shines from inside a design. A certain honesty, quality in good.
Yanagi
Honest objects, they answer to a poetic purpose, bringing peace and satisfaction, unlike consumption goods.
Beauty as opposite on the spectrum of evil. The two outermost opposites of life.
To be able to create truth you have to pay attention to both.

Hägersten
Graphic Designer by day, Artist by night. Robin explores himself and the world around him through his art practice. Mostly jokes and reflections on ridiculous events, trends and visuals all around us. He takes on a conversation with these pieces, most of the time within himself, through inside jokes, hopefully with the viewer and other visual artists as well.
