This work is the centre piece of a Triptych exploring the withering human heart, in black and white reflecting the artist South African past and inherited burden that holds, edged on body vulnerable in charcoal with shadowing, creating earthy closeness to identity of farm community of his origin. One hand over heart-ache while the other desperately paints/grabs/holds onto black, angled, an exiled identity layer in tones of one white foot, acrylic dimension… white scream black soul.
