Maximo Prades (born in 1977) from Falun, Sweden is a Stockholm based, mixed technique artist. He has periods when he focuses on a specific technique. There has been eras of black led and charcoal, kurbits, photos and collage as well as graffiti, just to mention a few.

Lately Maximo has been exploring the abstract, mixed with calligraphy, graffiti and scribbling. Here, he finds inspiration on walks in cities, taking photos of street art, posting and stickers on walls, poles and switchboards.

Maximo has spent the last few years working to establish a style of painting that transforms the language of the street into a hybrid form of abstraction and urban realism.

From the outset, Prades has sought to interpret his experience of cities that have served as crossroads in his life, from Hedemora to Barcelona, Managua to Stockholm, Valencia to Malmö and Copenhagen as a central theme in his work, which provides markers of time, and is about the accumulation of information that settles like accretions upon the surfaces of walls, streets, lamp-posts and switchboards.
