Art is a vehicle for social change. It allows people from different cultures and times to communicate. It is a way to solve social problems by being more open and innovative. Art can cheer us up after a bad day, make us go back in time and remember or inspire us to do more in life. It can also give us a comfort in belonging – that we are not alone thinking in a certain way.
Every person has their own story to tell. Some can be related with others. Very often, people with the same experiences want to relate to each other in some way and art is one way of doing that.
But let’s not forget the primary reason for art to be created in society – for the sake of its beauty. What makes art being valuable is that it allows freedom of creative expression, with no rules and that anything is possible. Whilst in the real world, many consider limiting structures built. As long as the humanity continues to grow, we will always have creativity and artwork there to guide us and grow along with us.
So let me take you on an adventure to another planet, where only your imagination can reach.

“THE AIM OF ART IS TO REPRESENT NOT THE OUTWARD APPEARANCE OF THINGS. BUT THEIR INWARD SIGNIFICANCE.”

- ARISTOTLE

Julian, you have been painting for over two years. What made you start from the very beginning?
- I was in an auction one day and found a painting of Pablo Picasso; “Woman with the fish hat”. There were no rules in this photo. Picasso had broken all the laws. That inspired me.

Were did you get your inspiration and ideas from?
- I always follow the big and famous painters. I try to relate those with each other and create something my own. The aim is to spread love and happiness.

What material are you using for your painting?
- No rules. That’s my secret. I use everything that can help me to create the lines that I want.

How are your paintings helping the society now?
- By growing and expanding people’s mind.

What is your background?
- I love to learn new things every single day. I have always had a hobby next to my “real” job. I have been searching for a talent that I am good and different at, and I found that in art.

Were do you see yourself in 5 years?
- I want life to be simple and fun. I want my paintings to be everywhere in the world and they will give a good vibe wherever they are. I also like to surprise so you will see with time.

What do you have to say to all the people out there that are hungry for creativity?
- Start creating.

Finally, do you have someone that help you with your art or are you alone in this?
- I have one partner that help me with basically everything. It is the person who writes all the stories behind the painting. She inspires me and gives me a lot of ideas and make me think in a different perspective. An excellent compliment I would say.

Who is this person, can you introduce her?
- Her signature is Z.D. Not yet. But she will be on my coming exhibitions and you will have the chance to meet her in person if you are present.

Writer: Z.D.
