Angelica Hogarth
Sculpture

“When sculpting wood, I realized that its plasticity harvest of nature, invoking its past in the event in which two forces, that of the artist-sculptor and that of nature, embrace the expression of a gestalt transformation as a germ to inspiration. Man can’t reproduce nature but a wood sculpture can embrace that natural energy and persist thru time as the veritable relationship with the layer beneath our feet. Joy and Hope is to perceive the plasticity of natural forces in wood, express the soul of an individual nature in its own cultural way, and see nature as being a part of the whole.
Creation… what art intent does to the reality of forms?
so different and variable are organic forms in nature from what is art creation,
so different is the way art intent makes visible and before becoming.
So, I look in nature what we have in common, man and nature,
in the spinning relation of the human expression that reflects existence,
so, I evoke joy and hope as an ecological perspective in the art realm,
and in the life adventure interacting with nature’s past.”
