Marta Adamczyk, designer and visual artist, born in 1985 in Warsaw. Graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Lives and works in Stockholm.
Adamczyk creates non-figurative, reduced abstractions using simple, anonymous shapes and a limited palette of greys, beiges and muted colors. Paintings are drawn on the reminiscence of objects and spaces, and exploration of how memory distorts remembered images. Artist focuses on materiality and formal issues of the creative process, applying layers of paint to reduce composition to organic, vanishing forms.
Adamczyk’s artistic work is influenced by her design background which resounds with the attention for colour, form and composition.
